MUWA, or "dream" and "harmony", are new expressions of sake exploring the full potential of four simple ingredients: rice, water, koji, and yeast. Each MUWA is a unique vision of Takara's mastery of traditional Japanese sake brewing techniques, reflected through the lens of modern inspirations and our proud California heritage.

Bourbon Barrel aging melds the naturally rich and savory-leaning characteristics of our premium junmai sake with exquisite nuances of fruit and savoriness.

While sake frequently offers delightful fruit aromas,
scents of spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg are uncommon. At
Takara Sake, we’ve employed a new technique that brings forward
both aromas—fruit and spice. After brewing, the undiluted sake
ages for a period of time in Bourbon barrels, picking up nuances
of baking spices and of oak. They meld beautifully with the
Junmai sake’s naturally delicious notes of fruit.
The savory nose and palate offer a core of butter-poached apple
and oak enveloped by spiced custard (cinnamon, allspice, and
cumin).

Recommended Temperature: Serve chilled, to 50° F or serve warm
(90° F) temperature, degrees, to highlight the spices and oak
aromas.

Food Pairing Suggestions: This sake is wonderful on its own,
before or after a meal. It will complement a plate of nuts, dried
fruit, and a dry, mild cheese such as Manchego. During a meal,
this sake goes well with Wagyu beef, baked chicken, butterpoached
lobster or mahi-mahi crusted with Macadamia nuts.
